Link of the Day - Molly Geiger

Thursday, April 22nd, 2010

Molly Geiger, a friend of mine from The Art Institute of Boston is having her senior show with a few other friends of mine (Chris Hoodlet, Tara Sellios, and Paul Yem) at the Lesley University Gallery in Porter Square. I am specifically highlighting Molly’s work here but all four photographers are great and work extremely hard. The opening for the show is April 22nd (today) from 5-7 so if you are around I suggest going to check it out. I don’t have too much to say about Molly’s work because a lot of it speaks for itself, which is not something I often say. She has been photographing the process of home births for the past year in and around Boston. Most of the work can be seen here on her site and many of the images are truly awe inspiring. But be warned, these images are graphic. The one above is on the EXTREMELY tame side of the portfolio so be warned before you enter the site and prepare yourself for some amazing and gruesome images.
